When we first started putting this issue together, I thought the connecting theme was going to be dreams. But as the articles came in, something shifted. The real thread running through every story was choice.
When I say, “choice,” maybe some of you picture crowds, signs, and shouting — the abortion debate. That reference to choice revolves around thinking only about ourselves, with little regard for how God would guide us.
But the choices you will read about here look completely different. They took courage. They considered others. They broke from the usual family pattern, did not quit, and changed their present, future, and their children’s futures.
As you read these three stories, notice the moment each woman made her defining choice — what it cost her, and what it gave her.
Here is what I keep coming back to: every one of those hard, brave choices eventually led somewhere beautiful. Not fairy-tale beautiful. Real-life beautiful. The kind of beautiful that builds strong women, raises empowered children, and leaves a positive mark on the world.
Good choices lead to fulfilled dreams.
When decisions take courage to make and walk out in life, there are some verses in the Bible that I’ve woven together like a story that you can hold on to.

Whatever choice is in front of you right now, God sees it and understands your feelings. That one willing step just might be the beginning of something you never dared to dream.
